you are new business development manager for a large UK-based motorbike company that specialises in high end quality motorbikes. these are sold through its numerous retail outlets. few month ago it was decided that your current supplier in Japan would have to be changed as there were a variety of problems that had led to an break. a review of the partnership concluded that your personnel had insufficient knowledge of the linguistic and cultural aspects of dealing with the Japanese supplier. The MD is to seek a new supplier in Bratislava, Slovakia. you and your team are due to go to Slovakia next month to visit this supplier and look at their operations and premises. The MD also asked you to prepare a report in which you detail the cultural and linguistic requirement of working with Slovakian companies.
