Major report
You must research the regulatory requirements for the operation of a hospitality business of your choice. The purpose of this report is for you to identify and discuss what the law says you should do with what the business you have selected actually does.
Your report must:
• Describe the business that you are using as the basis for your report
• Show how the business can demonstrate compliance with a broad range (at least three areas) of regulatory requirements. You should identify, from the legislation, what the legal requirements are and then demonstrate how the business you have chosen complies with them.
• Identify who within the business should be responsible for compliance. There may be a number of people with compliance obligations, depending on the size of the business
• Identify what penalties or consequences may apply for non-compliance, giving specific examples. The penalties or consequences will be different depending on which piece of legislation you are dealing with.
• Provide recommendations about what workplace policies or procedures should be available to support compliance. That is, what have you found that your business does not do or what could it do better to ensure that it complies with the legislation.
A properly constructed bibliography that indicates a broad range of information sources used to create your report must be provided. Information taken directly from any published text must be appropriately acknowledged.
PLEASE NOTE: Plagiarism WILL NOT be tolerated. You must not copy large slabs of information for inclusion in your report.
