The clinical significance is interpreted as the magnitude of the actual treatment effect, indicating whether the study results affect current medical practice. In practice, a clinical significance ought to indicate the scope of change, the period through which the effects last, whether a real difference occurs in the lives of the patients as a result of its implementation, ease of implementation, and cost-effectiveness. The clinical significance of an intervention is often based on the judgment of the clinician. The statistical significance, on the other hand, quantifies the probability of the study results being due to chance. It is frequently measured using a P-Value. The probability of the p-value indicates that the study results are due to random occurrence rather than the actual treatment effects. The p-value is often set at 0.05 (Schober et al.,2018).

The sample size of a study greatly affects the statistical significance such that treatments effects can appear statistically significant when using large sample sizes. Therefore, the clinician needs to determine carefully whether this statistical significance is clinically essential(Sharma,2021). For my evidence-based project, the clinical significance will be critical in interpreting the study results. The utilization of services such as medication, supportive services, and behavioral therapies are critical in addressing substance abuse. These interventions facilitate improvement of the functional and health symptoms and lower the symptoms. understanding whether the patients have improved in a meaningful manner is necessary to make changes on clinical decisions regarding treatments and interventions.
