There has been a lot of knowledge gained in this class especially for why HRM is important and to see the differences in what should be and the working experience. While things are constantly changing it has been increasingly important to know what impacts your HRM. “Information technology (IT) became a vital part of our modern-day activities. In contemporary years, the usage of IT in expediting the human resource management (HRM) activities augmented considerably. E-HRM has the ability to develop managerial competency and influence the role of human resources (HR) as a strategic business partner. E-HRM is essential for firms because of its encouraging effect on staff productivity.” (Mohammad Ziaul 2021) As we know from Covid-19 technology is ever adapting. It is key to ensure you are recruiting people online as well as adapting what you are sending to potential employees and what impact it has on recruitment. The other area that is increasingly important is addressing turnover. “Human Resource (HR) managers and business owners need to play critical roles to overcome the issue of the employees’ turnover intention in an organization especially the small and medium enterprises (SME).” (Long 2014) In any size of an organization you have to worry about turnover and making sure you are staying competitive. You have to constantly be aware of what other companies offer not just for compensation but what benefits are they offering. It is clear we are all driven by different things. In knowing what others are offering is key to your success in not having as much turnover.

In my opinion, I think Human Resources Management will always have to deal budgeting and filling roles with respectable talent, engaging current employees with compensation and benefits that are suitable for both the employee and the company, as well as navigating laws/regulations associated with the city/state of the company. I think these factors are important because a company’s success is contingent upon the talent that is hired (Shih & Chiang, 2011). However, filling these roles can take time and cost a fortune (Shih & Chiang, 2011). Human Resources Management can help to cut down these costs by finding respectable talent through recruitment, engaging the new hires during the onboarding process, and offering competitive compensation and benefits that keep employees happy (Shih & Chiang, 2011). In addition, compensation and benefits is an excellent way to retain existing employees as well as attract new talent (Bryant & Allen, 2013).


Human Resources Management can help employees to utilize/take advantage of these benefits so that companies do not loose out with costs and employees are satisfied (Bryant & Allen, 2013). Lastly, when small companies grow there are more rules and regulations that may apply that the company must abide by (Roehling, 2014). Human Resources management can assist with navigating possible violations small companies could face and help with navigating future barriers pertaining to laws/regulations (Roehling, 2014). Human Resources Management will have to deal with these issues whether a company is big, small, been around for a long time, or if they are new.

Competence has gained strategic importance in today’s competitive business environment and is vital for organizational performance (Dubois, 1998). Technological changes, global competition and a move towards strategic human resource management have focused on the importance of dynamic nature of competencies required by the workforce (Paulsson, Ivergard, & Hunt, 2005; Sparrow & Bognanno, 1993). Hollenbeck, McCall and Silzer (2006) also indicated that competencies and competency models have been helpful in determining and understanding managerial effectiveness. Therefore, researchers have examined what competencies an organization and its workforce need to compete in a changing business environment to manage and overcome the pressure of change. Competence is a valid measure to predict personal and organizational effectiveness (McClelland, 1973).  In the world we live in companies must adapt quickly.  Competition, globalization and continuous changes in markets and technology are the prin- cipal reasons for the transformation of human resource management. Based on the conditions of competitive global markets, the new strategic roles for human resource management have been defined. In a marketplace that is character- ized by the “war for talent,” companies in every industry are facing a difficult time in attracting and retaining people.1 To live in the changing environment, the notion of strategic human resource management has emerged.

In a global technological environment organizations are finding that amid the pandemic more and more employees face technological changes that are emerging as standard business practices.  Functionality has become remote through tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams that leave employees in a much less social environment.  As companies strive to change and adapt to technological advances, some due to the pandemic and some from a natural progression in business evolution, it is important that HR teams to blend technology with the overall human employment experience.  


A study by Deloitte Global Human Capital Trends (Galer, 2020) pointed to 3 factors that are emerging as post pandemic focuses for HR teams: A greater sense of belonging without compromising individuality, job security through reinvention, and new opportunities from uncertainty.  Each factor lending itself the opportunity to be productive through technology.  It is through the HRM process that organizations will be able to ensure that a businesses greatest asset remains the people that work there.  Any organizations greatest competitive advantage is the people that work for them.

These critical questions are: What is wrong with this picture? Who benefits? What are the barriers to freedom? What changes are needed? These questions can be asked in a variety of contexts and situations, including the context of care. The questions on the model are suggestions, but any question that focuses on bringing social injustices into awareness is also a critical question. 


When you ask the critical questions associated with emancipatory knowing, an underlying assumption is that people are not radically free to choose from among an unlimited variety of options, and that things need to change to make new options accessible to everyone. To assume that people are radically free places the responsibility for developing one’s full potential totally with the individual. Critical questioning assumes that freedoms are situated, which means that the possibilities for freedom and the development of individual potential are determined by a person’s situation. In other words, from a critical perspective, a person’s situation is assumed to be constructed by social practices that create disadvantage for some and privilege for others. 


From an emancipatory perspective, any conditions that limit people from developing their full human potential can be made visible, what is imagined can become real, and humans have the innate capacity to bring about changes to improve the human condition. Asking a critical question such as “What is wrong with this picture?” requires a lens that sees beyond the obvious and beyond one’s own personal experience. This makes it possible to discern problems that may exist with what people assume to be true.


Recognizing injustices and inequities can create major personal and professional dilemmas. Most people are socialized to accept an unfair status quo as the way things are (hegemony) and not to question the uncomfortable fact that some people are privileged and others are disadvantaged. To bring this kind of awareness to the surface and to act on it requires great courage, persistence, and the support of colleagues and allies who remain committed to action. Taking action often disturbs the status quo in ways that are not only uncomfortable but also prompt harsh and swift action to keep prevailing hegemonies in place. Nonetheless, critically questioning the status quo is an initial and critical feature of emancipatory knowing that sets the stage for praxis.


Why Is This Important?


When nurses question why something seems unfair, they are operating under the assumption that all persons deserve the freedom and opportunity to develop their full potential. Such questions assume that developing and exercising one’s potential is not solely a matter of individual will or desire, but that culture and society create conditions and structures within which people can thrive or fail to thrive.

William Eugene Blackstone is a largely forgotten figure of 19th century American life, but his

particular brand of Christian faith subsequently helped to launch an important movement of

evangelical America in the 20th century, namely, Christian Zionism. A unique mix of traditional

evangelical piety, Bible prophecy, dispensational eschatology (end times teaching), and a belief

in (facilitating) the restoration of Jews back to their ancestral lands (in his day then known as

Palestine), WEB combined all of these elements to become a public humanitarian voice for

Jewish relief from persecution in Europe (Russia in particular) and full restoration to Palestine.

Once engaged in this process, he would spend the rest of his adult life lobbying important

American public and political figures to save Jews and promote their restoration. Your task in

this assignment is to explain the ideas, beliefs, and events that would shape his life and influence

as a Christian Zionist, including his impact on the Jewish Zionist movement that would find its

You will create a curriculum map year at a glance. It will be similar to the one pictured in table 4.5 of the textbook. You will need to refer to at least one of the following resources. In California, we use the California Content Standards. If you are in California, or plan to teach in California, I would suggest using this document. Outside of California there are other state content standards you can use, specific to the state in which you will be teaching. You may use that particular state's content standards or use the SHAPE Grade Level Outcomes. Attached are these two documents. They are also in the Resources Needed for this Class folder in the Begin Here learning activities folders.


As you look at the content standards for your chosen grade level, pull out the key topics or main ideas for instruction.  Decide where you would teach these concepts throughout the school year. For simplicity, you may want to divide the year into four quarters. The example has six sections. Four will be good for this assignment. 


You will want to make sure you account for as many standards as possible. Combining standards and creating a general topic will be helpful. For example, grade 6, standards 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 all talk about striking. Don't worry about getting every standard placed in the map. If your grade level is high school, just concentrate on High School Course 1 and High School Course 2 in the California content standards. The SHAPE grade level outcomes for high school are combined nicely.

Use the same topics as table 4.5. The idea is to see the whole year at a glance so you will not be explaining anything. Be general and concise. It should be only one page.


High School (Grade 9-12) - Required health and fitness academic content can be found in standards 1 and 2. Required fitness related activities are found in standard 2. Required motor skills are found in standard 1. Required social, emotional and safety content can be found in standard 3.


All written submissions should reflect professionalism in grammar, spelling, writing style/format (one-inch margins, double spaced, typed in 12-point Times New Roman font), include current APA citations when appropriate, an appropriate title page, and be uploaded as .doc or .docx documents.

Overview


This is the first of three writing assignments for the course.


Whether we know it or not, we all have planned and executed projects at some point. For the assignments in this course, you will select a project to undergo the project management process. This project can be real or fictional, but you should choose something that you are interested in.


Remember a project must:


Have a beginning and an      end.

Result in something      being delivered to someone.

Require a series of      activities that must be done to complete the project.

Require resources (for      example, people and materials) to complete the work.

Again, we have all done projects. A project can be something as simple as taking a vacation, having a family reunion, putting on a wedding, having a birthday party, or buying / selling a house. The project could also be job-related, such as managing a major technology upgrade for the organization, putting together an annual management retreat for all employees, or something else that meets the definition of a project. The focus of your paper should be on the concepts learned from the chapter readings and not how well you can describe a project. All opinions must be supported with sources and in-text citations. Also, feel free to use different projects for each assignment.


Note: To avoid a high SafeAssign percentage, do not simply copy and paste from one assignment to the next.


Note: You are prohibited from using projects that can found on the Internet, including projects found in places such as CourseHero. All project submissions are submitted to SafeAssign for review.


Instructions


Write a 3-4 page paper in which you define the scope of your project:


Provide an introduction      and overview of the project.

Explain why it is      important to define the goals and objectives for a new project.

Describe at least two      goals for the project and describe an objective for each of the goals.      Include in-text citations from credible sources that explain the      importance of establishing and defining goals and objectives for a new      project.

Explain why it is      important to understand the organizational structure where the project      will be completed.

Chapter 3 in the course       textbook describes project management structures.

Describe the project management      structure that you will use to manage your project and why you made that      choice.

For example, will you       manage it via the existing functional structure of the organization, set       up a projected/dedicated project team, or use a matrix management structure?       If you will use a matrix structure, which type will you use?

Include in-text       citations from the course textbook to explain these structures and the       benefits of one over the other.

Define the term      "project stakeholders," identify the stakeholders involved with      your project, and discuss their impact/role on the project.

Discuss some of the best      practices for estimating and developing a project budget.

Chapter 5 in the course       textbook discusses budgets.

Use at least three      sources to support your writing. Choose sources that are credible,      relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at      least one time within your assignment. For help with research, writing,      and citations, access the library.
