1. The virus is Hepadnavirus (hepatitis B virus )
2. This brochure will inform the public about your virus. Your brochure must be handwritten. Make it as colorful as possible, use markers, colored pencils, etc.
3. Summarize the following in bullet form in your brochure:
1. Include a labeled picture of your virus as the central part of your brochure.
2. Dimensions of the virus.
3. The Morphological features, namely what the virus looks like, including the following parts: envelope, spikes, capsomeres and overall capsid shape and structure.
4. Discuss the basic DNA or RNA classification of your virus. (Baltimore classification)
5. Describe the biosynthesis of your virus genome. Discuss the transcription of the virus genome into new virion particles. If you have an RNA virus you cannot just work in a DNA cell as you don’t have the correct enzymes to make more RNA from RNA. So make sure to include if your virus must package any special enzymes in order to be effective.
6. Summarize the illness or disease that the virus causes in humans or other organisms. Include how this disease can be prevented or treated.
PART 2
1. You are also to prepare a 3D model of your virus. Be creative and use parts that are easily obtainable or from your own home. Keep your model small (between the size of a golf ball and tennis ball to save resources) Some examples of how you can create your 3D model include a 3D drawing, a 3D digital rendering, photo of a lego model, photo of a model created in another method (straws, pushpins, Styrofoam ball, etc...) (10 points). For Free 3D modeling software check out Microsoft 3D Builder (Links to an external site.).
