Instructions for Annotated Webliography in HHPH 130
Creating an Annotated Webliography
A webliography combines the traditional annotated bibliography of print sources with that of online resources. In addition, the annotated part is your chance to both describe in a few sentences what one would find on the selected web resource and evaluate the website.
For this project, each student is to select a topic related to the chapters in the bookand seek out five (5) of the very best websites (no videos, however your selected website may have videos or podcasts within the material). Using one of the evaluation tools provided online, determine the usefulness of the website to an audience seeking resources on the internet about the particular health topic that you selected.
In selecting your health aspect/topic, you have a whole range of topics covered this semester. One hint: select a health aspect that is not too large (or too narrow) so that you are not overwhelmed by too many websites and a topic that is not so narrow you have trouble finding five very good websites.
Webliography Evaluation Tools
As public health professional or community health educators we work in many settings including community, health care, academia, worksite, and others. You may be approached by an individual seeking information regarding a certain topic or issue (ex: Gun Violence, Birth Control use). Of the competencies a health educator uses is evaluating resource material and communicating resources that have a bearing on health.
Using one of these evaluation tools, determine the usefulness of your chosen websites to an audience seeking resources on the internet about the particular health aspect you selected for assignment.

Be sure to summarize the website and relate it to the book chapter/topic your team selected. Then write a brief critique of that website based on the evaluation tool you chose. (This is the annotated portion.)
The second paragraph/section should include a personal reaction to the website, discussing how someone can use this information. Lastly, discuss who could benefit from reading this website and why(other than an individual looking for information) and why. For example, a doctor, teacher, health educator, etc.
