Paul’s third journey found him both revisiting cities from previous journeys, and expanding his ministry once again. Culminating in Jerusalem, this journey leads up to his departure to Rome as a prisoner. Here the student will also see the larger picture of Paul in the New Testament as portrayed by Luke in both his gospel and the Acts: Paul’s life parallels, in a literary fashion, the life of Christ.
Prepare to share your insights, and respond to others, regarding Paul’s Third Missionary Journey. Be sure to look into the Book of Acts and provide text references for your insights. Your insights and questions from McRay would also be appropriate. Ensure the following points are addressed.
The beginning of the Third Journey has Paul “strengthening the disciples.” What might that mean? How does he accomplish this in the narrative that follows?
