Regardless of where you work or what your career is, learning how to communicate effectively and professionally is important if you want to succeed. Further, learning how to successfully utilize visual media in your communication can dramatically enhance the effectiveness of your message.
For this discussion, identify at least one specific message that you might communicate in the workplace – one that could benefit from the use of visuals. (Note: This can be in either a past, current, or potential future workplace.) For instance, maybe the message involves typing up job-aids and sending them out to your colleagues. Or perhaps it involves delivering a presentation to your boss on your department’s achievements for the previous quarter. Or, maybe it’s related to designing an advertisement for your own business. .
Your outline should be at least two pages and include the following elements:
A description of your message and discussion of the desired results
A description of the intended audience for your message. Be specific and include the appropriate demographic information for your target audience.
A description of the typography you plan to use in your message (e.g., this might include the font or typeface you plan to use or the tone you want the type to achieve). Include an explanation for why the typography you chose is appropriate.
An explanation of how you plan to utilize visuals to support your message. To provide support for your explanation, be sure to discuss one of the alternatives you considered before settling on your approach.
Identify the platform/medium you plan to use to communicate your message (e.g., Word document, PowerPoint presentation, web application).
An explanation for the platform or medium you selected.
Submit your two-page paper (not including title and reference pages). Your paper must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide, and must cite at least two scholarly sources in addition to the textbook.

I primarily work for medical billing for long term accute care. Right now Im a team lead and each month I have a monthly meeting pulling my team of 4 other co workers and immediate manager in a 15 minute to go over our monthly stats and our next months goals. With that being said I have to give a visual to show if we are above,below, met exceed our monthly money intake goal. I make a power point with slides to show the increase of money that we've brought in and it ranges from the past 6 months to show our growth. every month our team gets stronger and stronger so basically I just show the increase of previously denied claims that we've gotten paid. this is some sort of motivation I give my team to keep working harder and harder.
My intended audience is my co workers and my manager, my 4 other co workers that make up my team can see the visual of increase of money theyve brought in as well as my manager can see the growth in us to make us stand out from the other teams. Also with this visual, it shows the other teams that we are working hard bringing in money and we are doing the job we are suppose to do and more.
The use of visuals gives everyone something to look at in my point of view seeing those graphs posted throughout our office with our monthly goals being met and claims being closed gives some sense of accomplishment for everyone in the department. Each team lead is responsible for doing it and when we do our managers can see our dedication and work we put in and when it comes times for bonuses we can actually see why we are getting one or not because of all our hard work
