During this unit, you explored the different types of health care organizations and some of the ways you can differentiate them. To demonstrate your understanding of the unit you will write a short paper 2-3 pages using APA format and Standard American English as described in the Kaplan Writing Center. You will need a title and reference page. Please identify file as described in the syllabus.
You need to visit the following site regarding Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiser_Permanente and http://xnet.kp.org/newscenter/aboutkp/fastfacts.html . There are areas within the sites you can explore regarding Kaiser Permanente. You may also need to do your own research. After you feel like you know Kaiser Foundation Health Plan you must include the following in your paper:
Does the health plan meet the four activities of a health plan as described by the test?
Give examples of how the health plan has integrated care.
Based on what you uncover about KFHP, what type of health plan would you say KFHP typifies?
Is the health plan for profit or not-for-profit?
Define community benefits and describe at least one way KFHP supports their communities.
Does the health plan accept Medicare and/or Medicaid patients?
What, if any, type of accreditation does the Health Plan or Hospital have?
