Product Planning When preparing to launch a new product

As a Product Manager on the Latitude project team you have gained ratification of moving forward with the LiOn battery technology on your next generation platform.  Congratulations.  Please utilize the “Product Development at Dell Computer Corporation” case study to answer the following new product planning questions:
1.     When preparing to launch a new product, a. Provide specific examples of the few (4-5) logistical tactics required in bringing it to market. b. What types (4-5) of pre-launch training must be planned and implemented in this Dell case?  c. What are the 4 primary Considerations of launch planning and how would you apply them thoughtfully to the LiOn introduction?
2.     When specifically positioning the new LiOn battery, a. Would you recommend changing or modifying the Latitude branding and what is your justification?  If so, what new branding would you recommend?  b. Based on the market research findings, create a visual voice and three supporting messages targeting enterprise (business users) for the platform that includes the new battery technology. c. What 3-4 messages would you recommend specifically for industry analysts as well as the press targeting personal (home use) consumers?
3.     a. Given the infancy of the market segment and lack of data, what tactics (2-3) would you employ to develop a forecast for the new LiOn based platform?  b. What factors would you incorporate into the short term as well as long term forecasts? c. What primary components (2-3) comprise the financial model and what are the two (2) key financial metrics included within?
4.     a. Describe the few (4-5) traditional marketing tactics you could employ in your launch plan and what mix of these you would proscribe to effectively reach your intended target market?  b. What are three (3) non-traditional marketing techniques you could utilize and provide examples of how each could be specifically implemented?  c. What non-traditional marketing methodologies would you recommend for the LiOn platform launch and why?
