Intergenerational Conflict - Your Personal Case Study

Intergenerational Conflict - Your Personal Case Study
Reflect on a situation in which you had a conflict with someone because of their generation. Treat this as a real-life case study. What was the situation? What caused the conflict? How was it resolved - or was it not resolved? Explain, with details.
Just a couple of sentences
Example :I worked at a gas station about two years ago.  I was 26 at the time and was in a supervisory roll because of the efforts I put in at the job.  I had some employees that were middle aged and found it hard to take orders from someone younger than them.  I tried to be really sympathetic because I can only imagine having to answer to someone younger than you could be a difficult situation.  It got to the point where everything I said to this person and no matter how nice I said it they still wouldn't do as they were asked or finish the tasks that needed to be finished.  I think the only reason that caused this conflict was because of the age difference.  We worked alongside the manager of the store quite often so after trying to resolve this on my own I took the situation to her.  I told her that it was hard to get things done around the store when this certain person didn't feel that it was necessary to listen to me or follow my direction.  This situation never did end up getting resolved.  This person continued to be this way with anyone younger than him and I soon after quit my position with this company for other reasons.  This guy ended up leaving as well because he just couldn't seem to be able to follow direction.  The manager, as far as I know, didn't talk to him about the situation at all.  He was a great guy, just hard to deal with on a supervisory level.  I now do daycare for this guy's daughter and we don't have any of the same conflicts we had while I was his supervisor.
