Your assignment is to write two items: an outline and an essay. The exemplification paper should be double-spaced, three or more pages in length ( not including a Works Cited page), and following MLA guidelines, that answers the following prompt:
Within thee last couple of years, there have been many public protest reported in the news media. The subjects of these protests have been acts by vigilantes (such as Zimmerman vs. Martin), police (in Missouri, New York and elsewhere), the courts (on topics of immigration, religion, marriage, and others), and anti-war (Iraq, Israel, Syria, and Afghanistan and others).
How do any of these compare to Thoreaus ideas?
Specifically, choose ONE recent public protest and explain how it qualifies ( or does not qualify) as civil disobedience as defined by Thoreaus essay entitled Civil Disobedience. Please go into some depth and detail in your analysis and explanation.
You must use and include at least two outside sources. One sources must be Civil Disobedience and the other must be from a current periodical(print or online). You may use other sources as well, of course. Please cite those sources both within your paper (in parenthetical references) as well as at the end of the paper ( on a Works Cited page).
