• Teenage stress is something that all teens face at different times whether through family or relationship issues, school or schoolwork pressures, or something else. There are healthy ways to teach a teen to cope with stress including exercise, finding someone to talk to, plenty of sleep, and the support of family and friends.
• There is nothing more tragic than seeing a person close to you feeling as if their life is worthless and they have no other option than to end their own life.
• A minimum of 5 people in this room will experience depression in their life time.
• More than one in eight Australians has thought about taking his or her own life, 4 per cent have made suicide plans and 3.3 per cent have attempted suicide during their lifetime. The social and financial costs of suicide are substantial. The human cost is incalculable.
