Competitive analysis Mastering e Business

 January 25, 2016     No comments

A Company for Today: Mastering e-Business Mastering Business centers on CanGo, a fictional Internet startup that retails a variety of products and services, ranging from books and videos to online gaming services. Through the collection of episodes, the CanGo team deals with practical issues of business in ways relevant to the realities of today's business world. CanGo brings into focus a variety of issues important to businesses in general, and particularly those engaged in the challenging world of e-commerce. For example users: • Experience the growing pains of a new e-Business as Elizabeth struggles to define the mission of her young company and see it through the process of launching its IPO. • Confront the implications of the changing attitudes toward work and resources in the e-commerce world. • Encounter compelling examples of the CanGo team responding to change as it occurs, forming the internal and external alliances they need to ensure the firm's healthy growth. CanGo Resources Supporting the CanGo videos is a wealth of resource material. For example: • Exercises geared around a CanGo intranet: Several exercises send users to the site, where they read and evaluate strategic plans, mission statements, management memos, and other documents. • In addition, many exercises include links to the sites of some of today's top business organizations. These links enable students to step out of the fictional world of CanGo and apply their growing knowledge to the work of actual firms.
Ethel is a very detail-oriented and meticulous accountant. The company depends on her to always consider the potential costs of all the exciting new ideas at CanGo. She can be counted on to raise important issues and help differentiate profitable projects from those with less potential. Warren has been with CanGo since its inception. He is a realist and everyone knows that it is thanks to him that many new ideas become realities. Warren is a sports buff and is called Coach by his CanGo staff. Maria is a real people person who has to make many of the hard decisions regarding hiring and firing. Many employees turn to her to discuss personnel issues. Elizabeth counts on Maria to provide advice and feedback. Andrew is enthusiastic and creative in his work. He keeps his eye on what the competition is up to. He loves coming up with cool new ideas, and as far as CanGo is concerned, he's always thinking, "What are we going to do tomorrow?" Elizabeth is CanGo's founder. She's a smart, enthusiastic, and driven CEO. She can be intimidating to some employees, but evokes a great deal of admiration from them as well. She's a visionary with a very magnetic personality. Whenever new ideas emerge within CanGo, Clark can be counted on to ask, "Are we making our shareholders more money with this idea?" Clark adds an air of respectability to the young firm. His approach is always to ask, "How does this idea add value to the firm?" Gail is a perfectionist by nature and very serious about her work at CanGo. She is quick to volunteer and is willing to work extra hours to get the job done. She is liked and respected by her CanGo peers. Nick is best known for his sense of humor. He is a recent college graduate and though he is inexperienced, he is anxious to please. For the most part, his fellow staff members tolerate his good-natured antics. Whitney is a single mother who enjoys her job at CanGo. She was attracted to the company by Elizabeth's concern for her employees and her desire to build an employee-friendly firm. Debbie is a teacher by training who likes the teamwork at CanGo. She enjoys the fast-paced e-Business environment that CanGo operates within. My part: competitive analysis
Please see attached guide. Need five slides and 2-3 pages for a paperStudents will assume the role of consultants to CanGo. They have been brought in to advise the management team as to appropriate courses of action needed to address various challenges facing the firm. As external consultants, students will observe (through viewing of videos) CanGo’s personnel and interactions in various group settings as they describe and attempt to address some of the company's most pressing challenges.
